چکیده
Here, we introduce a polydixylitol based highly osmotic polymer that not only transmigrates the BBB by intra-arterial infusion of osmotic polyol but also triggers cellular uptake via modulation of caveolae mediated endocytosis.

In Silico Design and Verification of LAMP-BDNF Chimeric Protein for Presentation of BDNF on the Surface of Exosomes for Drug Delivery Through Blood-Brain Barrier
Background and purpose: The mature form of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) binds to BDNF/NT-3 growth factors receptor (Trk-B). This binding leads to activation of Ras–MAPK pathway which is integrated with cell growth and proliferation. The BDNF deficiency is correlated with various diseases and affects aging and miscellaneous. In the present study we aimed to design a chimeric LAMP-BDN...
متن کاملP184: Combination of Herbal Medicine and Nanomedicine: a Novel Therapeutic Target for Neurodegenerative Diseases
Inflammation is a pathologic condition that includes a wide range of diseases namely neurodegenerative diseases. Several natural anti-inflammatory components have been identified in plant extracts used in traditional medicine for the relief of inflammation. Herbal medicine is showing difficulty in crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB). So that the ability to pass the BBB is the main concern fo...
متن کاملIn vitro and in vivo studies on gelatin-siloxane nanoparticles conjugated with SynB peptide to increase drug delivery to the brain
BACKGROUND Nanobiotechnology can provide more efficient tools for diagnosis, targeted and personalized therapy, and increase the chances of brain tumor treatment being successful. Use of nanoparticles is a promising strategy for overcoming the blood-brain barrier and delivering drugs to the brain. Gelatin-siloxane (GS) nanoparticles modified with Tat peptide can enhance plasmid DNA transfection...
متن کاملPeptide nucleic acids targeted to the neurotensin receptor and administered i.p. cross the blood-brain barrier and specifically reduce gene expression.
Intraperitoneal injection of an unmodified antisense peptide nucleic acid (PNA) complementary to mRNA of the rat neurotensin (NT) receptor (NTR1) was demonstrated by a gel shift assay to be present in brain, thus indicating that the PNA had in fact crossed the blood-brain barrier. An i.p. injection of this antisense PNA specifically inhibited the hypothermic and antinociceptive activities of NT...
متن کاملAnti-SSTR2 peptide based targeted delivery of potent PLGA encapsulated 3,3’-diindolylmethane nanoparticles through blood brain barrier prevents glioma progression
Current therapy for Glioblastoma is insufficient because of the presence of blood brain barrier. It limits the transport of essential drugs to the tumor sites. To overcome this limitation we strategized the delivery of an anticancer compound 3,3'-diindolylmethane by encapsulation in poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles. These nanoparticles were tagged with a novel peptide against somato...
